At Health, we aim to have an ongoing dialogue with the labour market our graduates will be entering after graduation.
The objective is to:
This collaboration with employers helps ensure that the degree programmes at Health and the competencies of graduates correspond to society's needs.
The dialogue with employers takes place in the faculty's employer panels (see section 13 of the University Act), and these panels are an important source of inspiration and knowledge about developments in the employment area relevant for the degree programmes.
Employer panels play an important role in ongoing quality assurance of the degree programmes at Health by advising directors of studies, teaching staff and students on boards of studies, department management teams and the Dean's Office on educational matters.
The employer panels meet at least once a year with the board of studies, the deputy head of department for education and the vice-dean for education. We also use employer panels in connection with evaluation of degree programmes, which takes place every five years. The employer panels are also consulting parties in the development of new academic regulations and new degree programme initiatives.
Among other places, dialogue with employers takes place in the faculty’s advisory board, which comprises members with various areas of expertise and interests in the fields of health sciences research, teaching, talent development and knowledge exchange. The Advisory Board advises the dean and the other members of the management team at Health on issues such as the faculty’s strategy and development. In this way, it contributes to ongoing quality assurance of the activities carried out at the faculty.
The Advisory Board meets every other year.
In addition to the employer panels and the advisory board, the faculty has close working relationships with several of the primary employers of its graduates. The depth and breadth of the collaboration with Central Denmark Region is worth mentioning in particular.
In addition, all departments at the faculty have a business engagement partner. The role of the business engagement partner is to initiate collaboration with the business community and collaborate with other units at Aarhus University and other parties, including employers.
If you have any questions about the employer panels at Health, or if you need more details about the information on this page, you are welcome to contact Vice-dean for EducationLise Wogsen Bach (lwb@au.dk) or Fakultetssekretariatet på Health.
