The objective of rightsizing is to ensure alignment between the number of graduates and the needs of the labour market. Rightsizing means that a cap has been set on the number of student places allowed on a degree programme.
The Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science determines the degree programme rightsizing. This is either based on labour market forecasts for specific labour markets (programme-specific rightsizing) or on unemployment data (unemployment-based rightsizing).

As head of department/deputy head of department, you can recommend changes to the number of student places. The head of department/deputy head of department coordinates this recommendation with the director of studies. In this way, we ensure that the number of student places is in accordance with the department's financial framework and the academic quality of the degree programme.

The vice-dean for education approves the final number of degree programmes and student places. In this way, we ensure that the number is in accordance with the faculty's strategic and financial framework.
The head of Health Studies Administration coordinates the process regarding changes and approval of the number of student places offered from year to year. As head of department/deputy head of department, director of studies and vice-dean for education, you will be notified by Health Studies Administration when a decision on the number of student places is to be made.
