Clinical training

Objective

Many of the degree programmes at Health are organised as a combination of theoretical courses and clinical training (practical/clinical training).

The objective of clinical training is to ensure that students acquire the right practical and clinical competencies. This is a prerequisite for students to perform the role and function their programme aims at.

Clinical training is also an opportunity for students to meet potential employers, build networks and connect with professional role models in relevant positions.

Clinical training at Health

Health offers the following types of clinical training:

  • Clinical training at different hospitals in Central Denmark Region (Medicine)
  • Clinical training at Aarhus University Hospital and Rigshospitalet Glostrup (Optometry and Visual Science)
  • Clinical training at a public dental clinic (DENT) and at Aarhus University Hospital (Odontology)
  • Clinical training at a public dental clinic (DENT) and in private and municipal practice (Dental Hygiene and Clinical Dental Technology)

You can read more about the individual clinical training in the academic regulations for the individual degree programme and on the study portal for the individual degree programme.

Our process

The board of studies determines requirements for the scope of clinical training (number of hours) and how these are assessed.

The board of studies closely monitors the students' evaluations of clinical training. Clinical training is evaluated as part of the general teaching evaluation. You can read about teaching evaluation on the "High-quality, coherent degree programmes" page.
