Work-integrated Master’s degree programmes

Under the work-integrated Master’s degree programme scheme, existing Master’s degree programmes can be approved for being offered on a part-time basis for students in relevant employment.

Approval of the offering of work-integrated Master’s programmes is based on:

  • Input from labour market organisations
  • Proportion of graduates from the full-time degree programme employed in the private sector (Note that AU has obtained approval of two programmes aimed at employment in the public sector)
  • The intake on the full-time Master’s degree programme (assuming that the full-time programme will still be offered)
  • Average unemployment rate among new graduates from the full-time Master’s degree programme
  • Academic breadth and geographical spread of the locations intended to offer the programme

The following minimum requirements for needs analysis and involvement of prospective employers can be deduced:

-        Labour market organisations/trade association – declaration of support

-        Employer panel – consultation

-        Study board – consultation

-        Statement on existing degree programme to ensure academic breadth and geographical spread

-        Statistics about the existing degree programme

o   Admission statistics

o   (Un)employment statistics

o   Statistics on the share of graduates employed in the private sector
