Please note that the description is primarily aimed at applications for new degree programmes and offerings, but that the method can also be used for other application types. Applications for new degree programmes and offerings are subject to the most extensive documentation requirements. Therefore, the use of the method must reflect the documentation requirements associated with the individual application types and associated guides. Examples of different application types are listed to the extent that the method has been used in specific AU applications.
Purpose
Legitimacy, strategic and political backing, expressions of interest/declarations of support.
Declarations of support formally fulfil the requirements for applications for separate modules, offerings of work-integrated Master’s degree programmes
Consultation is a formal requirement in connection with the development of e.g. Bachelor of Engineering programmes in relation to competing providers with regional coverage obligations (e.g. university colleges), but can generally be a good idea both in relation to competing institutions and industry organisations with an influence on prospective employers

Rectors of competing institutions, industry organisations, chairs of the body of external co-examiners
How
Meeting or contact by phone followed by follow-up consultation letter. Direct contact from the academic environment to the stakeholder. The degree programme is briefly described both verbally and in the consultation letter.
