Degree programmes at Aarhus BSS must provide graduates with both academic and praxis-oriented competencies that fulfil society's needs. Our work placements and project placements play an important role in this.
Work placement and project placement are an opportunity for you to use your expertise on the labour market. This is an opportunity to work with praxis-oriented, career-relevant topics, meet potential employers and build networks with potential employers and connect with professional role models in relevant positions.
Lecturers and course coordinators
Work placement and project placement are an opportunity for you to strengthen your connection to the labour market. It is also an opportunity to keep up to date with praxis-oriented and career-relevant topics and gain inspiration to integrate these into your teaching.
Work placements and project placements help ensure that degree programmes are aligned with society's needs, and that students acquire relevant skills and competencies. The aim of students' evaluations of work placements and project placements as well as ongoing dialogue with work placement hosts is to help boards of studies and directors of studies to assure and develop the quality of the format of requirements for, and relevance of, work placements and project placements.
The board of studies is responsible for ensuring that the academic regulations at Master's degree level allow for project placements, and for assuring the quality of such placements. The students themselves are responsible for finding a host organisation (with the exception of psychology) and organising the work placement.

To ensure the quality of the internship and that the students will benefit from it, an internship agreement/contract is prepared and signed by the host organisation. At the end of the internship, the student prepares an internship report or academic assignment, which is assessed at an examination. The requirements for the assignment are stated in the academic regulations. The lecturer takes on the role as internal supervisor in connection with the project placement, and the board of studies approves the project placement.
The Aarhus BSS Studies Administration and Aarhus BSS Career offer guidance to students on their options. Aarhus BSS Career manages the AU Job and Project Bank.
