Collaboration with employers

Objective

Aarhus BSS educates graduates for the regional, national and international labour market. The aim of the faculty is that degree programmes should give access to attractive jobs and careers, and that students should feel that there is coherence between the content of degree programmes and the demands of the labour market.

A number of employer panels have been set up for all degree programmes at Aarhus BSS, with representatives from private and public companies, organisations and institutions. The primary role of the employer panels is to advise the boards of studies and departments on questions regarding degree programmes, including specific questions on the quality and relevance of degree programmes to the labour market. This means that the employer panels advise on matters such as:

  • The development of degree programmes, course elements, forms of teaching and examination in relation to the demands of the labour market as well as competence requirements,
  • The labour market’s need for further and continuing education based on the graduates’ Master’s degree qualifications,
  • Quality review of degree programmes as part of the five-yearly degree programme evaluation.

Aarhus BSS Career

Also partners with relevant employers in order to provide companies and organisations in Denmark and abroad with the right candidates for jobs and work placements. Through the AU Job and Project Bank, students can find exciting opportunities for collaboration, and career fairs are held on campuses in both Aarhus and Herning.

Success stories

On the Master's degree programme in Business Economics and Auditing, employers were involved in a focus group interview held by the faculty's student and welfare counsellors. The employers commented on input from current students on the degree programme and made their own suggestions for how the programme could be developed to meet the specific needs of the auditing industry.
