Recruiting new students is an essential task for Technical Sciences. The goal is not to recruit as many students as possible, but to ensure the right match between students and degree programmes.
Our recruitment efforts involve both on-site activities and events and online campaigns and websites.
At Technical Sciences, we work with a number of on-site activities and events throughout the year to support potential students in choosing the right degree programme.
It is important that potential students have a chance to experience the university and its degree programmes first-hand and to gain a personal impression of what it means to be a student at our university and faculty, while at the same time having access to inspiration, information and guidance.
In connection with all activities and events, we focus on providing guidance, on our communication and on making potential students feel welcome, ensuring that activities leave a professional and positive impression while providing participants with new insights, understandings and answers to any questions they may have.
During the year, potential students and other important stakeholders, e.g. upper secondary school teachers, can participate in activities and events at Technical Sciences (see examples of this under ‘Links’ on the right-hand side).
Our activities and events are planned, coordinated and executed in close collaboration between Student Counselling and Study Information (VEST), the Nat-Tech Studies Administration, communication officers and the four engineering departments.
In addition, Technical Sciences contributes to the recruitment efforts ATU, the Junior Researcher project ('Foskerspirer'), SubUniversity og 'Det rullende Universitet'.
At Technical Sciences, extensive recruitment campaigns have been launched in the engineering field/AU Engineering built around a wide range of videos that are marketed specifically to the target group on various online media and platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, TV2 online and banner advertisements.
The campaign videos aim to kindle an interest in our engineering degree programmes, and to act as the top of the ‘funnel’ that will guide potential students as they take the first steps towards choosing a degree programme.
Through campaign videos, potential students are directed to a landing page that aims to increase academic interest and knowledge of the programmes. At AU Engineering, there are, among other things, portrait articles, articles about careers, an overview of events and links to the presentation pages of the engineering programmes at bachelor.au.dk.
At bachelor.au.dk, also known as the Study Guide, you will find information about each degree programme’s academic content, admission requirements, insights into student life, career information and, on some pages, a checklist to test whether the degree is a good match for potential students.
Below are selected examples of the elements of online recruitment:
