Recruiting new students is an essential task for Natural Sciences. The goal is not to recruit as many students as possible, but to ensure the right match between students and degree programmes.
Our recruitment efforts involve both on-site activities and events and online campaigns and websites.
At Natural Sciences, we work with a number of on-site activities and events throughout the year to support potential students in choosing the right degree programme.
It is important that potential students have a chance to experience the university and its degree programmes first-hand and to gain a personal impression of what it means to be a student at our university and faculty, while at the same time having access to inspiration, information and guidance.
In connection with all activities and events, we focus on providing guidance, on our communication and on making potential students feel welcome, ensuring that activities leave a professional and positive impression while providing participants with new insights, understandings and answers to any questions they may have.
During the year, potential students and other important stakeholders, e.g. upper secondary school teachers, can participate in activities and events at Natural Sciences (see examples of this under ‘Links’ on the right-hand side).
Our activities and events are planned, coordinated and executed in close collaboration between Guidance and Study Information (VEST), the Nat-Tech Studies Administration, communication officers and the departments.
In addition, Natural Sciences contributes to the following recruitment efforts: the Academy for Talented Young People (ATU), the Junior Researchers Project (Forskerspirer), SubUniversity and The Mobile University (Det rullende Universitet.).
At Natural Sciences, a cross-cutting recruitment campaign has been launched covering all of the faculty’s Bachelor’s degree programmes. The campaign revolves around a series of videos that are marketed specifically to the target group on various online media and platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TV2 online.
The campaign videos aim to kindle an interest in the natural sciences degree programmes at AU, and to act as the top of a ‘funnel’ that will guide potential students as they take the first steps towards choosing a degree programme.
Through campaign videos, potential students are directed to a landing page that aims to increase academic interest and knowledge of the programmes. On Study science at Aarhus Universityyou will find portrait articles, articles about student life, videos about the commencement of studies and other relevant information. Potential students can also browse through the presentations of each degree programme on bachelor.au.dk (in Danish).
At bachelor.au.dk, also known as the Study Guide, you will find information about the academic content of each degree programme, admission requirements, insights into student life, career information and a checker that can help establish whether a degree is a good match for potential students.
