Recruitment

Objective

The objective of recruitment initiatives at Aarhus BSS is to recruit talented and motivated students to all our degree programmes.

A considered choice of degree programme

Aarhus BSS wants to provide prospective students with accurate and thorough information to enable them to consider what is the right degree programme for them. Providing prospective students with the best possible starting point for choosing a degree programme that matches their interests and competencies will, in the long term, help them achieve a working life that corresponds to their wishes and expectations.

The recruitment process involves several platforms, including online universes, information events on campus and collaboration with upper secondary schools. Through these activities, the individual has access to inspiration, information and guidance throughout the process of choosing what to study. The individual conversation between a student counsellor and a prospective student is also an important aspect of the recruitment process.

Recruitment efforts at Aarhus BSS include recruitment to Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes nationally and internationally.

To ensure alignment between recruitment activities and research at Aarhus BSS, planning and implementation are in close collaboration between the faculty, departments and Aarhus BSS Studies Administration.

When participating in an event at Aarhus BSS, it is always possible to meet relevant teaching staff and student counsellors.

Directors of studies, Aarhus BSS Studies Administration, Aarhus BSS Communication and External Relations as well as the central unit (AU Student Administration and Services) are also important contributors.

Development and evaluation

Recruitment efforts always involve experience from previous recruitment initiatives, relevant key figures and surveys, as well as academic insight from researchers and lecturers.

Recruitment efforts are evaluated and developed on an ongoing basis so that they are in accordance with the needs and wishes of the target group. The purpose, scope and design of the faculty’s recruitment activities must be approved by the vice-dean for education, while the faculty management team must be included in prioritising recruitment efforts. The primary target group consists of upper secondary school students and people on a gap year from Central Denmark Region, but Aarhus BSS also recruits international students and students from other regions.
